Bose Tower Speakers
There has been a lot of debate about the new Bose L1 Tower speaker system. Bose has always had a great reputation in the home audio industry. Their recent jump into the DJ industry had many people scrambling. Bose claim was that these tower systems helped reduce hot spots in room with virtually every area of a room being at about the same volume. (SPL - sound pressure level) At face value, this seems like a wonderful thing. In reality, it is not. As a DJ, you want the volume to be higher on the dance floor area and reduced over the surrounding table areas. Why? We want guests to be able to sit and converse at their tables even during dancing. With the Bose system, all areas are of the same volume. That means if you want to turn it up on the dance floor for dancing, you have to drowned out conversations all through the room. This is a terrible thing to do. One other thing you will notice when listening to virtually any Bose system, you will HEAR the bass, but not really FEEL it. One of the greatest impacts that you can have when playing dance music is for people to FEEL the bass. Even with their optional subwoofer boxes, these tower systems pale in comparison to a true professional DJ system. So, buyer beware when looking for a DJ who tells you they have this great sounding Bose speaker system. It may sound great in your home, but when you put that system to the test in a large venue with 125+ guests, it's going to be a mere shadow of what your DJ Network DJ's can provide to you and your guests.
