In a culture where originality is highly valued, performer, clinician, and composer Ben Dean is a stellar talent. In addition to his conservatory training at the Hartt School of Music, Ben is a highly accomplished recording artist whose work was featured in the movie Brothers Bloom (2009) starring Adrien Brody.
In 2009, Ben also won the ASTA Jazz Violinist Award, which is an international competition for improvising violinists and has recently opened shows for Coldplay, Ricky Skaggs, and former members of the Talking Heads.
As an educator, Ben has been a guest clinician for colleges and numerous public school districts. In these presentations he demonstrates the art of improvisation for strings in jazz, fiddling, and rock genres.
As a composer, Ben recently recorded an album of original string music for the Hartford Arts Council. His debut album “String Theory” is now available on iTunes and CD Baby.
From traditional classical repertoire that ranges from J. S. Bach to Prokofiev, to your favorite Irish Jig; from a Jazz Standard to the latest Pop/ Rock Anthem, the combination of Ben Dean and our staff of strolling musicians can make it happen at your reception.

Ben Dean – String Theory
Atmosphere Productions very own Ceremony & Strolling Violinist Ben Dean has recently release a new solo CD of Modern Classical tracks called “String Theory”.
As a composer, Ben recorded this album of original compositions of string music for the Hartford Arts Council and is produced by Keith “Touch” Saunders. He is currently on tour with his original band Caravan of Thieves, which features high energy gypsy swing and melodic songwriting.
