Prom Expo - Friday March 21, 2008 There will be a prom expo on Friday March 21 2008 at the MA Mutual Center in Springfield, MA. If you are planning a Sweet 16, Prom, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, then you should plan on attending this show. There will be a variety of vendors and a great fashion show going on. The event is 3pm - 8pm so stop by and say high to one of the DJ Network members in the chill lounge. We'll be playing music, running videos on our plasma screen and talking to you about your upcoming plans. The Thousand Origami Cranes has become a symbol of world peace through the story of Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who contracted leukemia as a result of radiation from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima during World War II. Her story is told in the the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. Sadako's best friend Chizuko, came to visit her and brought with her some origami (folding paper). She told Sadako the legend of the crane. It is Japanese legend that folding 1000 paper cranes (senzaburu) so pleases the gods that the folder is granted a wish. It has become a symbol of world peace.
