The Rumor Mill Somehow a rumor started and was picked up by TV news that the Yankee Pedlar in Holyoke, MA was going out of business. They in fact are not out of business, but just changed hours in their dining room. We wanted to reconfirm to all our readers that the Yankee Pedlar is in fact still in business and continues to offer a wonderfully unique banquet room for your party or wedding needs. However, the facility formally known as Joe Black's has officially closed. James Bucko and his staff at the Riverhouse Catering have taken over to fulfill certain commitments with the intention of being the long term tenants under the name of "The Society Room". The DJ Network will provide further details as they become available. One Of The DJ Network's Members Honored After Hours DJ Service, one of the DJ Network's Members has been honored by local brides and voted to be one of The Knot's 2008 "best of weddings". Congratulations goes out to Rob and the entire team of After Hours DJ Service.
Crystal Peak, Winchester, CT There comes a time every once in a while where I'm pleasantly surprised when I work at a facility that I've never had the opportunity to work at. That happened when I walked into Crystal Peak. I was expecting something more like a rundown hall with smoke stained wallpaper and outdated plumbing. Boy was I wrong. This facility was clean, immaculately decorated and the staff was amazing. They really knew their stuff. I loved the cocktail hour that was located on the hilltop next to the fountain and covered bridge. If you are looking around for a beautiful and well run facility, you owe it to yourself to drive out to Crystal Peak. It's worth the drive. (and they have great pricing as well!)

Green weddings are actually some of the most beautiful weddings around, not only is having a Green Wedding is great for the environment but the wedding is very unique from all the others. READ MORE Ipod DJ Story We had the unique experience the other weekend to be hired to do a large light show for a local college. They had already hired a local DJ, but just wanted our club lighting and laser light show. I was able to sit and watch the other DJ perform. Perform is not really the word one should use in this context. He was an Ipod DJ. All of his music was on a couple Ipods. The problem is that he was playing consecutive songs off of the same Ipod, so as one song came to an end and the dance floor lost it's momentum, he'd press play on his Ipod and out would jump another song. There were no subtle blending of songs, no beat matching, not even a simple cross fade from one song to the next. It was abrupt and disrupting to the energy on the dance floor. Make sure you know what you're getting when you look to hiring entertainment. Just so you know, this college kid also has been doing weddings for years with some other company out near Worcester. He is not a registered DJ Network member. Guitar Hero / Dance Dance Revolution Want something interesting at your next school or corporate event?
